One Life To Live : Farrah Fath’s Acting
March 30, 2009 by Dexie
Before everything else I just have to say that I love Farrah Fath (Gigi). She’s “my” girl. I think she’s cool. BUT, her acting is not up to par in soap’s history. Right now her storyline is being a Mother to a kid battling leukemia. To make matters worse, the only person who supposedly can save the kid is her sister who is blackmailing her. Break up with the Man she loves aka the father of her child, to save her child’s life. A bone marrow for the Father. How sick is that?
It’s a sick, and heartbreaking storyline at the same time. As much as I would love to host a party, and give a toast to Farrah Fath’s acting, I can’t. She’s not Laura Wright (Carly, GH) who absolutely killed it when Michael got shot. Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth, GH) was ok too when Jake was kidnapped. Bree Williamson (Jess/Tess/Bess) was absolutely brilliant when Nash died. Farrah Fath on the hand has left me scratching my head. Her acting as a Mother caught between a life and death situation is weak.
The way she was telling Brody her predicament today made me want to turn the TV off. Not because I was so affected by her emotion. It’s because to me she was acting like someone just took a candy from her. Her delivery of lines can rival a 3 yr old who hates the word “NO”. Her facial expression is childish at best. I wanted to reach out into my monitor and shake the emotions out of her. This story is a brilliant material for any Daytime actress. Unfortunately, Farrah is not grabbing it with all her might.
We can argue that Farrah Fath is not a mother in real life therefore she doesn’t have any experience to draw it from. Bree Williamson hasn’t lost a husband either but she was wonderful when her character Jessica watched her husband died. And I can bet my life that if this story landed on her lap, she would be great as well. I’m sorry to say that Farrah Fath hasn’t done anything to impress me yet with this leukemia storyline.

One Life To Live : Everyone Is Back In 2008
The storylines in One Life To Live confuses me sometimes. One story is moving slow, other stories are moving too quickly. It’s like they’re taking us into this blast from the past story and we all want to jump off of it quick and then BAMM, when they finally wrap it up, it’s like a 360° turn without explanations.
Kinda like when Bo went back to the future. The past Bo was Asa. Once Bo left, there is a new Asa with a new face checking out Emma and being tough with the young Bo aka Rex. Have I lost you yet?
Then, when Gigi finally told Rex about Shane’s real paternity, before Rex as Bo gets shipped off to Vietnam in year ‘68, they were transported to the future. hallelujah, the truth will set you free. Back to the past, Tanner, Robert S. Woods real life son is now portraying Bo, who 5 minutes ago looked like Rex. People around them just went on their merry ways not noticing the fact that Bo’s face changed into a much younger, ahem cuter and less spiky hair Bo Buchanan.
Oh My Gosh, thank goodness this is over. Another day of pretending I didn’t really notice the face exchange while everyone acts like it’s nothing is going to send me into the loony bin.
One Life To Live : 40th Anniversary Update
I haven’t had a chance to discuss what’s going on with at Llanview to commemorate it’s 40th Anniversary. Technically, next week is then the full 2-day special starts but things have been happening with some characters. Like Bo. With his broker heart, he went to Texas to somehow comfort his demons. Drinking problem and all. Asa’s ghost has appeared. Apparently, his soul hasn’t completely crossed over yet coz he just keeps getting in trouble. So what does he do? He’s mocking Bo of course. Well, Nora warned him about Lindsay didn’t she? Bo wouldn’t listen. Now even Asa is saying ‘I told you so’.
Rex tried to stop Bo from getting in the horse, but he didn’t listen and now they’re both electrocuted and on the way to the hospital. Bo and Rex will go back to when One Life To Live started. Like really really classic One Life To Live.
Next week, Viki sees dead people.. again
One Life To Live : June 18 | Mrs. David Vickers
June 18, 2008 by Dexie
Much to Dorian Lord Cramer’s chagrined, David Vickers got married. But that’s not why Dorian is fuming mad. Its because David married Addie, Dorian’s not-so-sane sister, Blair’s ‘off-the-medication mother. LMAO!
Blair is enraged and is ready to kill David Vickers. She had a talk with Addie about marrying for Love. Addie said, she didn’t love Asa when she married him. Blair said that was different. Addie then said she knows that David didn’t marry her for love. Their feelings are mutual. Addis is just checkout off her list of things to do.
Blair punched David in the face. But only after David asked her if she wanted him to adapt her. LOL!

One Life To Live : April 3 | Lindsay’s Purpose
April 4, 2008 by Dexie
What is Lindsay’s purpose in life these days? She’s lying to Bo about faking her insanity. She’s irritated that Nora is happy with Clint. She’s trying to get Clint on her side by “casually” helping the BE fight whoever wants to put BE company down. She’s trying to make Nora stoop to her level by constantly asking her how she feels about Bo and Clint working together. Unfortunately for Lindsay, Nora is not as childish and vindictive like her. I mean sure, Lindsay’s purpose in life is to make Nora pay for whatever it is that Lindsay can’t get over. The fact that Sam loved her, that Bo loves her and have an unbreakable connection with her, and that Clint is now with Nora and not buying Lindsay’s schemes. Nora doesn’t have to fake insanity to get a Man. That’s driving Lindsay Rappaport really insane. LOL.
One Life To Live : March 31 | Bo and Nora
April 1, 2008 by Dexie
Bo and Nora got stuck in the road on their way to the Buchanan Lodge. Surprisingly enough, they didn’t make each other crazy. They were friendly towards each other and had a good ‘ol laugh. I loved how they reminisce of their old days. When they used to dance like crazy. Bo and Nora could dance!. Which is why I put them in our DWTS Poll. I want to see them dance again.
Anyhoooo, Nora remembered the food that Nigel packed for them. Nigel thinks of everything, doesn’t he? They had Brie and wine. What could be better? They were having a grand ‘ol time until damn Lindsay showed up acting like a hero. “Oh we’ve come to save you”. Pfffft. Nora and Bo were just smiling. They don’t need saving. They’re quite fine sitting there drinking wine and sharing brie.
I enjoyed this part of yesterday’s episode immensely. I don’t necessarily want them back together coz I think Clint and Nora are fun too. I’m just happy that Bo and Nora are acting like grown ups. Know what I mean?
One Life To Live : March 24-28 Random Thoughts
March 28, 2008 by Dexie
So what’s has been going on over at Llanview this week? Well, let’s see if we can sum it up, bullet style :
- Antonio is acting jealous(and stupid). He’s pretty much accusing John of wanting to sleep with Talia while the latter is just as eager to do so. *Tsk tsk*
- There’s still that weird vibe going on between Natalie and Jared. I guess the show figured making them “relatives”, we will witness how their “love” just can’t keep them apart therefore their “love” must be real. *Pukes*
- Rex wants Gigi back as mush as he wants to deny it. Adrianna knows it which is why she’s going insanely envious and crazy.
- The Buchanan’s are on their way to the cabin for a family quality time. Actually, mostly to convince us that “Uncle” Jared and Natalie are meant for each other. *Pukes again*
- Nash is on his way to California with Sarah while Jessica is acting neglected and spending a lot of time with Cristian. Pay attention to the story coz I think the show figured out how to break-up another stable couple on the show. Yet again.
- I love Nora and Clint but why is Lindsay getting in the mix? She informed Nora that she was married to Clint so she knows him. Hmm, earth to Lindsay, you were married to him for how long? Not as long as Nora was married to Bo so puhhhlleeaazzeee.
One Life To Live : Adrianna VS Gigi
March 27, 2008 by Dexie
Yah know, I used to like Adrianna. She used to be so sweet and nice. So different from her evil mother. When did she become such a bitch and snotty like Dorian? What did Gigi ever do to her anyway?
Well besides being Rex’s ex, and possibly being Rex’s baby-Mama. Gigi has never made an effort to “steal” Rex from Adrianna. Rex is the one insinuating himself in Gigi and Shane’s life as far as I’m concern.
She told Dorian, she doesn’t want people taking advantage of her sweetness anymore. That’s fine and dandy but it’s Dorian who did all the bad things against her. Not Gigi, certainly not Shane. Someone can stand for herself without treating other people like crap. And that’s exactly what Adrianna is doing to Gigi.
It’s like, she went to Paris, got some bangs, a few chic tops and all of a sudden, she’s a bitch on heat and wheels. Geez.
Someone needs to put her down from her pedestal. And the Gigi and Viki team would do exactly that. I’m sure Dorian is going to love the “teaming” up though. She lives for anything crass and immature.
One Life To Live : February 28 Recap : The Manning’s Are Moving
Yup, Todd has decided to ship his whole family off to Hawaii. The always scowling and growling Todd Manning picked Hawaii to settle down. It was weird, but ironic :). Even Blair and Starr couldn’t believe it. It’s soooo not Todd. Too bad Starr doesn’t want to, and Blair is not too sure. Jack is all excited, while Sam is ‘ehhhh, whatever’…
One Life To Live : February 27 Recap : The McBain’s
Am I the only one who thinks Dr. Michael McBain has grown? What I’m trying to say is, the recast Michael seems to have matured the character. In a good way, trust me. He’s pretty much told Marcie to get over it. They’re blessed. They get to live, again. Together. She’s not going to jail. Yes it hurts that Tommy is not with them but they had a life before Tommy. It’ll take time to get used to waking up without Tommy but they need to count their blessings. Tommy has a lot of people who love him. He’s safe and taken cared off. I love how this new Michael delivers his emotions. He’s upbeat, happy and sad at the same time but the acting is awesome. He’s not yelling and certainly not acting like he wants to punch a wall all the time. Know what I mean?
