Genera Hospital : Getting To Know Claudia
Slowly but surely, we’re getting to know why Claudia is Claudia. We’ve seen bits and pieces of her loneliness and this strong facade that she’s a strong, nasty woman but the truth is she’s scared of something. And yesterday we saw a glimpse of that. Anthony went back to when she was 16 yrs old. It involves power, Trevor and her mother. And Anthony’s ability to disrespect women in the family. It makes me sick how he treats her like a whore. He even calls her to her face all the time. Claudia on the other hand took on the role because that’s pretty much what she heard all her life. Hence, sleeping with any man she meets. She dresses the part, barks at them and it doesn’t matter that inside, she’s crying out.
This dark character unfolding right before our eyes is sad, lonely and scared. GH is showing what makes Claudia vulnerable and tick at the same time. Sarah Brown is doing a great job separating her ex-Carly character. Sometime I can’t help but think about it but when she and Laura Wright have scenes together I think that’s GH’s way in telling us that Sarah is Claudia while Laura is Carly. I can’t wait to find out more. I wish they’d move faster though.

It’s been pretty obvious that Claudia’s had some sexual/daddy issues just from her mere presence as well the odd relationship she has with her brother. At one point, I even thought perhaps Johnny was her son but the age gap doesn’t seem too big. I commend her for taking on such a raw role.
I despise the writers for approaching a topic as serious and sensitive as this so haphazardly. But then again, look at the other women who have had similar histories? Laura, Bobby, Karen, Elizabeth, and Lulu all had issues but Laura (maybe Karen) seems to be the only one who has been affected long term.
Bottom line, the writers have the Madonna/Whore complex in mind with their women. Asshats!

Yeah, GH seem to have that complex. The way Men talk to or treat women in Port Charles is disgusting. I mean the Luke and Laura thing started from a rape..but for some reason it’s the best love story on daytime. How sick is that? Kudos to great actors!!

I would love to see Claudia been Johnny’s birth mother. It would be very interesting. But Claudia may be to young to be his mother.
