General Hospital : Rosie Malek Yonan Is Cast As Leyla’s Mother

Leyla’s Mom is coming to town, as I reported a few weeks ago. Leyla has mentioned her a lot in a few days huh? Rosie Malek Yonan has been cast for the character, as Farah Mir. Her first air date is today, Monday, June 9th.
I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble she’s going to be. It’s nice to see regular characters finally bringing in some history about who they really are. Long time viewers may not like it that there are so many new characters but for me, it depends on the situation. With Leyla’s case, she’s been a regular cast who was in the middle of the Patrick and Robin story. It’s about time she gets some new story of her own.
A short profile on Rosie Malek Yonan : She’s from Iran, a classically trained pianist, composer, actress, director, writer and documentary filmmaker. I wonder if they’ll continue the mother-daughter storyline and make her to be one of Anna’s previous projects. Bring back Robert while they’re at it!

Wow Rosie! She absolutely rocks! Good on her! It’s great to see her on General Hospital. But I hope they weave some of her own background into the character or storyline.
