All My Children : May 7 | How Do You Like The New Colby Chandler?
Brianne Moncrief first aired yesterday as the new and “aged” Colby Chandler. So now we had en ex-Colby Chandler acting like a grown up which really didn’t work because we know how old Ambyr Childers is. Now we gett his new one, who btw is 25, acting all young. I mean even her lines yesterday were annoying. “Stop treating me like a kid, I did this that and this”. Know what I mean? AMC was pushing it. We know Colby has a new face, aged, to match Frankie, whose supposedly been in Iraq and has far more experience in love and life than Colby. But whatever. I’ll go along with it. Just stop trying to make it obvious.
Was I the one who noticed how Brianne looks just like Ambyr? They could be twins. The same smile and their eyes expressions were eerily similar. I guess that was the idea huh?

What is wrong with you people in charge? It’s bad enough you are turning all the women into dummys with no idea of truth; now you get rid of the best Colby Chandler ever and replace her with a dud just as you did with Babe, and also the REAL Greenlee!!!!!!!!!!!!
How idiotic do you think fans are the stories are not believable even remotely any more. Leave Zack and Kendell alone every generation needs a Joe and Ruth let them be and give them more children!!!!!!!!!!!

We were just beginning to really like Colby and the changes she was making in her life and attitude. Who was the idjet that decided to trade her off for this God awful imitation. The new Colby has no acting ability. What is wrong on the AMC set to cause so many of its people to leave? This doesn’t happen as often on other shows. We’re seriously thinking about moving our daytime entertainment over to CBS or NBC.Sorry guys but you keep messing up on your casting and it does have an effect on your viewers.

I will be fast forward through anything that the new Colby is in. The REAL Colby has done such a superb job, from acting like a spoiled brat to showing care and compassion for people. So far every AMC fan that I know is disappointed and will be doing the same thing that I am - fast forwarding — I won’t give up AMC because of all of the Martins and the Hubbards and of course Opal and Palmer are a hoot!!

I AGREE!! What is going on with all of the cast changes??? Ambyr was the PERFECT Colby. I love AMC but replacing the reasons why I love it will surely cause me to get my soap fix elsewhere! And the Ryan memory-loss thing, RIDICULOUS!

What’s going on with this new Colby? I don’t much like her. She’s quite drab. Also, I’m tired of the Ryan storyline and I had hoped that Annie wouldn’t go for sneaky tacticts (which is typical of your writing). How disapointed I am. Come on AMC writers, get with the program and try writing with some common sense. We aren’t stupid.

The new Colby Chandler is TERRIBLE. She has no acting ability. There wasn’t anything wrong with Ambyr that a new hairstyle wouldn’t have helped, but the writers of AMC seem to be pretty good at messing up good things by changing actors like Greenlee, Babe and now Colby. Oh, BTW, I’m really sick of Ryan’s memory loss. Get a new story line already and bring Colby BACK!!!!!!!!

Absolutely agree! Bring the old Colby back! The Ryan memory loss story needs to get loss! Bring back the old Babe! The new Babe does not mesh with the Krystal character…mother and daughter. What’s next, replacing Susan Lucci and David Canary???? Yikes!!!! Back to the drawing board guys! Don’t you know you shouldn’t fix something that isn’t broken??

AGREED. I know it was Ambyr’s decision to leave, but the new Colby doesn’t fit…just as the new Babe doesn’t fit…just as the old Greenlee didn’t fit. How is it that the casting people can continue to get it wrong when the fans can tell right away?!

I agree with everyone else. The new Colby is BORING!!!!!!!!!!! and not believable. Really cold with not the fire, life, energy, and compassion. She is just as bad as that “other” Greenlee. Weren’t you lucky to get the “real” one back? Get the “real” Colby back. I might watch your show again.

The new colby is awful to look at and to watch. what a mistake. the old one was wonderful and a joy to experience the change in her maturity. what was the reason for the change. this one has the personality of of real drip! hope she leave to live with lisa, her mom real soon.

I had to get everyone elses opinion on the new Colby.
So glad to see I am not alone on this one. She cannot act!!!! She is worse than watching a bad high school play. I do not even see a big age change. AMC blew it again!

I do not like the new Colby at all. What is with the hair???? She does not have the connection with the cast that the “real” Coby had. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do us a favor and bring back the old Colby!!!! It was bad enough to have to get use to a new Babe, now a new Colby.

Are you serious??? What’s with this new Colby? I can’t stand her….she’s entirely too old and while they do look similar, Ambyr is MUCH prettier. This girl is not believable & is a terrible actess. What’s wrong with AMC that everyone we love is leaving?
The new Babe will do I suppose, she’s almost as good as Alexa but I would’ve rathered her left completely…on second thought, NO that would just leave more time for this ridiculous storyline with Ryan and his amnesia. ENOUGH already!
Poor Dixie. I wish they had never killed her off as we could really use her alive & well right now for some much better storyline than the majority of the ones going now. She’s been brought back too many times to make another one believable.
So many of my favorite case members have gone in the past year; really gives me a reason to switch to another network some days.

Guys- just remember, even though amc can’t seem to re-cast well these days, it was Ambyr (the “old” colby”) who wanted to leave to further her career. That’s why they had to find a new Colby…having said that - Ambyr, come back!!

OK this is a forum where we can freely express our opinions so here it goes:
Colby: Haven’t seen enough of this new one yet to really form an opinion either way so I think she needs to be given a chance. However, I thought the original Colby was FANTASTIC and I wish she hadn’t left. She seemed to step immediately into the role and really developed as a character. Loved her!!!
Greenlee: Glad the old Greenlee is back because I don’t think anyone could do that character justice EXCEPT the original Greenlee. Personally I thought the interim actress who protrayed her was pretty weak; but in all fairness, I do think she could have evolved and maybe (MAYBE) pulled it off. I guess we’ll never know. On the other hand, I was a little put off by the fact that such a big deal was made of the original Greenlee’s return. It kinda seemed like the other girl (sorry, don’t know her real name) was just cast aside like she never existed. All the pomp and circumstance over the original Green’s return must have made her feel absolutely worthless and I think that stinks!
Ryan: I agree with the others. Can we please move on with the amnesia thing? What’s the point of it all? It’s starting to feel like “filler” story line and Cameron Matheson is so much better than that! Get on with it AMC!
Jesse and Angie: CAN WE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE not hear “20 years” this and “20 years” that anymore???????? WE GET IT!! He was away for 20 years, he lost 20 years of his life, etc. etc. bla bla bla. We’re in the “now” now! We were so excited to see these 2 original and beloved characters return, but can’t we just get on with it?????
Dixie: I’m sure all the long-time AMC fans will agree that we miss Dixie. But come on…..bringing her back as a “ghost” is really stretching it. And on top of that, nobody believes Adam’s character would ever let anyone see him cracking up. The Adam we all know would never let on that he is “seeing ghosts”. Come on people!
Zach and Kendall: Who would EVER name their kid “Spike”??????? I thought we were going to see them give him a real person’s name. Again….come on people! We all know soaps aren’t exactly REAL but I think this is one of those instances where it spun out of control. For the love of God, give the child a name!!! Spike sounds like the name of a pit bull or a WWF wrestler. COME ON!!!!!!!! But as far as Zach and Kendall goes…..love, love, love them!! (Come on ladies……isn’t Zach ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!???)
Babe: Loved the old Babe, but I do have to give props to the new Babe. She stepped right into the role; and in my opinion, the switch was seamless. I do feel the ‘disconnect’, though, between her and Krystal. Hopefully that’s just something that takes time to develop and will evolve into something that feels more real. I think part of the problem is that the old Babe used the same drawl as Krystal so they seemed more real as mother and daughter. But overall, I really do like the new Babe.
Tad: LOVE THIS GUY!! His serious, sensitive side is so evenly balanced with his humorous, comedic side. In fact, I would love to see him sometime as a guest star on a sitcom!! If you got it, flaunt it……and he’s got it!!!!!

I didn’t even hear anyone say Brianna would be now portraying the role of Colby Chandler. It was abrupt and frankly I really grew to like Amber Childers as Colby. She also looked so much like the original Liza. I too get disgusted when characters are changed around just when the writers have us reeled in. I want Amber back as Colby. I’m sure it was just PR that she left the show voluntarily. No doubt they opted to let her go whether she wanted it or not. PS. I agree w/the point someone else made about leaving Zack and Kendall alone a little bit. AMC does need a strong couple that lasts and can grow with the show, for the long haul.

The new Colby can’t act and brings nothing
new or interesting to the role - she is like “acting wallpaper” - we know she is there, but we don’t really notice her.
The previous Colby was a far better actress.
AMC should have left this one alone.

The new Colby is awful. I really loved Colby and will miss her. I also hate the whole Ryan losing his memory thing. I hope others will write in and state how horrible the casting changes are getting on AMC. I don’t hardly watch it anymore about 1-2 times a week and think I will forget it all together soon.

That could be his “Nickname” like J.R. and Little A - but to give the kid the name “Spike” and nothing else??? WTF? That poor kid has no future on the soap. What will he be called when he gets older? Just S.L. (for Spike Lavry) or Little S! Puhleeeeeeeeeze!
Babe: I do not agree so much - this new babe does NOT fit whatsoever! The old Babe just melded into the rest of that cast - even though they called her Babe - another dumb name - should go with her “REAL” character’s name. I understand that you couldn’t get rid of her character all together when the old Babe left to follow her hubby (Jamie Martin in real life) to pursue his acting career in CA, but you could have found someone that fit better. Nothing against this actress personally but she does not fit - she seems way too “genius” level for the Babe character. Not that the other one was dumb but she had way better street smarts and this one doesn’t do it justice.

I think the new Colby is stunning and very much adorable. While change in characters is seldom easy at first, namely when the old Colby was so popular, it will develop into a wise decision and I believe many of you will enjoy the new Colby as much as I do. Brianne, be good.
