General Hospital : January 21 Recap | This Kate & Sonny Thing
You know, I like what Kate and Sonny have. I agree with both Megan Ward and Maurice Benard that what Kate and Sonny have is a mature relationship. And you know what I would like for Sonny to have that but right now, I would really wish for Sonny to concentrate more on his kids. Especially Michael. I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I would like Sonny to start acting like a real Father instead of always chasing a woman. I understand he can’t let her get away again but he is a Father first and foremost.
There’s Carly asking Jason to help Michael coz she’s cared shitless of what Michael has been showing lately. The word that comes out of his mouth are horrifying. So many people the he loves has died. He knows how his Father’s business goes. You whack somebody for revenge.
As much as I love this whole Sonny and Kate saga as Sonny’s new future, all the rumors running around how Kate won’t have a choice but to really marry Sonny is a turn around from all the “maturity” talks that Maurice and Megan has shared with everyone. Their love is supposedly timeless and again, mature. But I’ve been reading some rumors lately that Kate MIGHT find herself in a predicament where she has no choice but to marry Sonny to avoid going to jail for shooting Trevor. Now that’s a rumor spoiler I’ve read from a Soaps message board. I try not to post those stuff here until there’s a confirmation from somewhere else or the the official word.
If this is how this supposed mature relationship is going to end up, Thanks but No Thanks. Marry Me to save your ass in jail has been written for every freaking couple in daytime history. That kind of storyline has made Sonny and Carly tick all these years. If the writers want to take that route, then I’m bored already. They want us all to be part of their journey but if that’s how it’s going to end up, then all that “mature relationship” talk is just bullshit. Been there done that. Make the Sonny and Kate story special. They shouldn’t have to deal with blackmails, jail times and court hearings. Wasn’t that how Carly ended up marrying him the last time? Why do it with Kate? For crying out loud. Why make Kate not say anything and ran out of there leaving Sonny alone to call his people and trash the restaurant? That’s not mature to me. Kate is supposedly Sonny’s saving grace. Another violence in General Hospital storyline. Another unoriginal story that’s been done over and over and over again. It’s a stupid storyline. Another idiotic move from GH’s PTB.
Now let’s hope they get their heads out of their asses and scratch that - Trevor being shot by Kate, Sonny as the witness, then saves her ass out of jail by marrying her to avoid testifying against her- story, PRONTO! Instead, Make Sonny be a Father to his kids while Kate think things more clearly. Then let Kate go back to Port Charles to find Sonny and profess her love. Whatever. Just not this shooting/marriage/jail time story again.

Yeah. Blech. I actually liked that she turned him down but I’ve never enjoyed Sonny with anyone else but Carly - still, the predictability of the show lately *yawn* - I realize the writers are on strike but I’d hoped that would bring *more* originality, not more of the same ick brought to us over the past few years (excepting sweeps events, of course - those GH does marvelously)
