All My Children Poll : Who Is The Real Greenlee Update
You guys are speaking out a lot regarding this issue. I love you all. Seriously. You are all so feisty and opinionated. Makes me very proud. Just don’t start killing each other. It’s just soaps after all but yeah, keep up the good job. Results of the poll, which you’ll find on the sidebar is very close. Last weekend it was tie actually. As of right now, 377 votes has been casted. 175 in favor for Rebecca Budig, 194 in favor for Sabine Singh, 8 votes for people who’d prefer another actress. WHUUUUT? The poll is going down this Sunday so if you haven’t voted yet, do it now. It will be printed and sent to ABC headquarters. I’m sure they already get a lot of letters from fans but hey, our opinions matters too :)

Dexie - thanks for the update on the poll and for sending it in to ABC. I’m very disappointed in the way that AMC/ABC have handled the entire situation. I have liked SS in the role since she came on screen IN SPITE of the bad writing and horrible storylines. She is an actress who reads the storylines that the Writers write and takes direction from the Directors. I also like RB and am torn about her return because of the way ABCD have handled this with their current PR campaign which lacks class and tact. The storylines and dialogue have been the problem with ratings - not SS whom I will miss seeing. RB is a fantastic actress and I feel for her because of the pressure she must be under. Thanks for letting us discuss this here!

Sabine Singh is an amazing actress and an even better friend. Anyone who knows her, knows that she would do anything for anyone and she put her heart and soul into the roll of Greenlee. The new ad campaign is wrong and disrespectful on so many levels, not just to Sabine, but to any other actor who is a recast as well. Shame on ABC for this completely distasteful promo, they should be ashamed of themselves!

Why don’t they have Sabine come back as Greenlee’s long lost sister, at least do something for the girl. She is a great actress

I agree. The whole “real greenlee” campaign is quite rude. Singh had to grow on me, but she did, and this just seems so mean-spirited. I hope she’s already found something else.

I watched All my children today and I really missed Sabine I think she made the role better. I am not saying I don’t like Rebecca Buding but I really think Sabine is the better actress.

Sabine to me is the REAL Greenlee. I like Rebecca too, but Sabine has that star quality about her that I just didnt see in Rebecca…

I gotta weigh in on the Rebecca side. She’s not as whinny as Sabine. Her Whinning got on my nerves. Welcome back Rebecca.

I am not so sure that Sabine was whinny. I think she was showing Greenlee’s vulnerable side in a way that you were able to see it stemmed from her childhood.

I have to weigh in on Rebecca as well. Sabine did a great job, but it wasn’t the same as Rebecca performances.

When Singh came on I was like wow it be that hard getting used to her because she almost reminded me of RB. The thing is that as the show contiuned SS showed her own take on Greenlee and how to make her more vunerable. SS is not RB and therefore is not going to perform like her either. How would people feel if ABC would’ve said THe real Kendall is back. Meaning Sarah Michelle vs Alicia. Not letting someone take a role as far as they can go is wrong but bringing back the original actor is just beneath them. What would Y&R #1 daytime show be without melody thomas scott as nikki. She wasn’t the first nikki but she did make the role her own and is responsible for great scenes on the show. Like many others the way ABC/AMC handled this was rude and made many viewers disgusted with the campaign. If ABC would’ve fired SS and kept greenlee away for another short period of time then bringing RB back wouldn’t have been a problem. Instead they just took SS’s job and gave to RB. REbbeca would’ve had plenty of time to get her job back. These kinds of things on soaps upset me, just like the DavettaS/ChristelK Lily switch.
