  Sabine has done a wonderful job taking over a very much loved character but if tptb can bring back Rebecca to her original Greenlee character watch for many changes to come so that you the viewers won’t mind that wrench thrown into the fold. Tptb actually think that only she can make you not notice whats happening before your very eyes. The door is being opened for those who may want to leave. Just how many are leaving is the question.

  Actually when Kendall tried to have them bond didn’t Greenlee talk about how much she wished she had a sister…that she hated being an only child? The long lost sister could work but it wouldn’t work if Rebecca came back as that part beucase to the viewers she is Greenlee and to say oh well now she is Greenlee’s sister is just weird….its just liek Sarah Brown returning to GH as someone other than carly, and I don’t want her as Carly either….but its just stupid to try becuase it takes away from my show in my opinion…

  I think AMC has finally laid itself in the gutter. To treat Sabine as they did is dispicable. Rebecca Budig couldn’t make it out in the big world so she gets her old job back. Another actress on the show who is contemplating leaves is also in for a rude awakening. She too won’t make it on the outside and much like Rebecca will come crawling back to AMC for a job. Never seen any soap stars in movies other than lifetime. Look at Susan Lucci well she can’t act either.

  To me it’s not the why or what but the how. Being an actor is a harsh profession and people lose their jobs but not like this. Not being treated like yesterday’s garbage and you didn’t work your ass off for months making this character believable just to be dumped on by the head of ABC daytime. It is wrong on so many levels. Sabine Singh deserves so much better that this. I have really became a fan of her since she took the role of Greenlee and it breaks my heart that I will no longer see the magic she brough to me and 1/2 of the dynamic pairing of Aidan and Greenlee. I don’t know why they brought RB back. She could be gone in a year or two again. Sabine did nothing wrong but go for a role and get it and totally be amazing at it. I hope Karma hits ABC and Frons and it blows up in their faces.

  I am disgusted with ABC and Frons. I did not watch AMC when Rebecca was in the role. As far as I am concerned Sabine IS the ‘real’ Greenlee. I am a new viewer as of this summer and what caught my eye, and kept me tuning in, was SS and her pairing with Aiden Turner. I ADORE them together and they are they ONLY reason I watch. The treatment of Sabine is nothing short of appalling. She does have fans, she is loved and AMC is going to lose a desperately neeeded ‘new’ viewer over what they did to her. Brian Frons and ABC have shown themselves to be classless buffoons, and are using Sabine as a scapegoat.

  AMC can say goodbye to my viewership. The way they treated Sabine is absolutely disgusting. I watched AMC when Rebecca was Greenlee and I never liked her portrayal. I wanted more from the character because I felt that could really love Greenlee had she been a little softer and not as cold. Sabine did bring that to me, I agree with a previous poster who said Sabine is the ‘real’ Greenlee. Rebecca left me sour in her interview with both SOW and ABC. In SOW she spoke about how her pilots never got picked up and said, ‘that’s life’….well, what’s life is that she left AMC and didn’t get what she wanted. Most people in ‘life’ are not allowed to just get what they want back, this was Sabine’s role…not hers anymore….and THAT is life. However, people will constrew almost anything in order to get what they want sadly enough. The other comment I didn’t like was in the ABC interview when she said she liked what Sabine did with the character, but she played Greenlee for six years and knows who Greenlee is…or something to that effect. No offense, but just because you originated the role doesn’t mean that’s the best way to play her. I would much rather see Sabine on my screen than Rebecca. Sabine is a great comedic actress, something that is hard to find in daytime. I loved her scene in the hospital when she was drugged up and when she was drunk outside The Comeback after Aidan slapped that guy. I don’t think we’ll ever see that with Rebecca’s Greenlee. Let’s hope Sabine really makes it big and Frons has to eat his words.

  Oh and another thing about Frons’ comment about Sabine not having to be ashamed of being fired because she’s being replaced by a Daytime Emmy Nominee…well yeah, nominee Frons…NOT winner. Susan Lucci is a terrible actress and look how many times she was nominated. Gimme a break Frons! What an idiot that man is. What will it take to get him fired.

  I think it is wrong how the people in charge handled this situation. I used to watch Rebecca on AMC occasionally and she was honestly great in the role of Greenlee. When Sabine came on I actually just would not even tune in to the show because of the recast. But as time went on I tuned in more and more and I came to ADORE her as Greenlee. She is the reason I became a daily viewer of AMC for the first time ever, after 25 years of watching soaps. And I feel like Sabine and all the people who did buy in to her Greenlee (not only buy in but were completely SOLD by it) had the rug pulled out from under us by this big “surprise”. It backfired because TPTB underestimated the number of people who do love Sabine as Greenlee. It backfired because TPTB are out of touch, as always, with the viewers. I don’t expect them to change their minds but I think this was a big mistake. Rebecca can’t save All My Children. And the show is losing a viewer because I can’t in good conscience watch Rebecca as Greenlee without thinking about Sabine’s Greenlee, and without thinking about how Sabine was treated like NOTHING & so were her fans.

  I am so disgusted with Brian Frons and ABC and the way Sabine Singh has been treated. Sabine stepped in and took over the role of Greenlee after Rebecca refused the offer to come back. She was thrown under the bus almost immediately and the character and the actress were subject to much name calling and abuse from some fans who can’t separate the characters from the performers. In spite of this Sabine put her heart and soul into the role and managed to win over viewers who became fans of hers. Viewers who came to appreciate her talent and the much needed humor she added to the show. Her role as the biker chick was a classic. I was watching AMC when Rebecca was in the role of Greenlee and I hated Greenlee, not Rebecca. Sabine took over the role of Greenlee and she became my favorite character and Sabine my favorite performer on the show. Not only that but Ailee (Greenlee & Aidan) became my favorite couple. Ailee is a couple that I feel is the best in daytime and I feel like I’m being cheated out of the loyalty I showed to this show mainly because of Ailee the past few months. It’s classless, tasteless, insulting, rude and cruel to refer to Rebecca as the “real” Greenlee. When Sabine was hired to take over the role of Greenlee she wasn’t referred to as the “fake” Greenlee. And for the record don’t expect me to continue to watch AMC after the heartless and cruel way that Sabine was treated. Brian Frons might think the firing of Sabine was nothing but business but in my world, this type of cruelty even for a large conglomerate like ABC is unacceptable.

  I think the act of firing and the way it was handled and the subsequent ABC entertainment news stories and interviews were totally unprofessional. I had fallen in love with Sabine Singh’s portrayal of Greenlee and the Ailee pairing. This shocking event hurt more people than Ms. Singh. It hurt her many fans as well. Not only can I not understand the reasoning behind this cruelty, but I can’t understand how the PowersThatBe at ABC think that this is a good move and will increase the viewership. If this was a business decision, it was not designed to increase the good will of the customers of the business of ABC Daytime in this season of good will toward men (and women).

  “The Real Greenlee is back”????? Are they kidding? What a slap in the face to the terrific job that Sabine has done these past months. Sabine has made the character of Greenlee her own. It’s bad enough that that Frons did this in such an evil, sneaking cowardly way…but to add insult to injury by doing it just before Christmas? I have lost all respect for Brian Frons, ABC, and Rebecca Budig herself. While she is not totally do blame, she does share in some of it because she KNEW someone else had that role, and would have to be fired. I for one am hoping her return will be a huge flop…just the way it was when Cady returned as Dixie.

  Here’s hoping that Sabine will make it big away from AMC. IMO she’s a higher class of actress than RB could ever dream of being. Maybe this awful firing will be a blessing in disguise for Sabine. We love you Sabine, and we will miss you as The REAL Greenlee!!

  Hey TPTB what are you thinking?I mean making a talent like Sabine leave in this fashion is well not cool…Her take on Greenlee was well quite refreshing and sweet…In my opinion she was Greenlee she made it hers and hers alone…To have her replaced well it is uncalled for…She brought a freshness to her that was honest kind and of course very brutal in her flashbacks and recreating them was no small task which made Sabine one of a kind Greenlee…Please reconsider… Peace Out

  I love Rebecca Budig and I absolutely love Sabine! But Greenlee is not the Greenlee that Rebecca played and boy did she play the role well but Sabine brought a new side to Greenlee and I really loved this side! I mad to see Sabine go and I hated how they treated her and wish everything was different and Sabine was staying because i think Greenlee has changed and Rebecca is a way better actress to going backwards and go forward! But thats my opinion!

  I can’t even begin to tell you how disgusted I am by this whole situation, ABC and Brian Frons. They showed absolutely no respect to Sabine Singh with the way they fired her. For me she is the “real Greenlee”! I don’t care if Rebecca Budig originated the role, she chose to leave, the role wasn’t hers anymore. Hell, they even asked her back before Greenlee was recast and she didn’t want to come back. Just reading the interviews, I have a huge proplem with how this went down. It’s beyond tacky.
  I absolutely loved how Sabine played Greenlee and I loved the Ailee pairing she created with Aiden Turner and I’m sad to see it end. I don’t care anymore if they keep them together now because it won’t be the same. One part of the Ailee I love is missing now and it’s Sabine. I decided for me that the last they Sabine is onscreen is my last day of watching the show. I see now reason why I should continue to support the AMC. And with Frons saying in an interview, that they are doing what the fans want in getting Rebecca back as Greenlee, I guess he didn’t want my viewership anyway, because it’s defenitely not what this fan wants! But you now the saying, what goes around comes around….

  I have to say that after reading all the comments here, I wholeheartedly agree with everyone’s assessment of the situation. Not only was the way in which this situation had gone down horrible, the interviews that followed were beyond shameful. Truthfully I was an AMC viewer, but tuned out when nothing was really of interest to me anymore. I lost faith in ABC soaps for quite some time, but then one day when I saw a hint of a Greenlee and Aidan pairing, I tuned in again. When I finally saw what was happening right before my eyes, I found myself excited because Sabine not only made me love Greenlee but she and Aiden Turner brought to life what was undoubtedly one of my favorite pairings of all time. They were cute, romantic, funny and simply wonderful. Over the last few months their popularity grew and viewers who hadn’t watched AMC before Ailee happened kept coming back to the show because they too see the undeniable chemistry that Sabine and Aiden have with one another.

  Sabine came in at a time when everyone hated the storyline and she took a lot of heat for it, but she put her all into the material and not only managed to add a softer side of Greenlee, but she won over the audience in the process. Her portrayal of Greenlee has been different than Rebecca’s, but for someone to hint that none of her work mattered by referring to Rebecca as the ‘real’ Greenlee is shameful. Sabine put her all out on the line and owned it with her work. She made Greenlee a fantastic character and to me she is Greenlee. She and Aiden made Ailee one of the top AMC couples and Frons should be ashamed with what he’s done. There were better ways to deal with this and he should have kept Sabine and Rebecca if he wanted Rebecca back so badly!

  “The real Greenlee is back on AMC” - HOW CRUEL IS THAT??? What they did to Sabine was just plain WRONG!!! Does AMC not have a heart anymore??? I’m sorry I love RB just as much as anyone but this is not right at all. She can’t get anything anywhere else so she has to steal a role from another promising actress that I loved and adored as Greenlee. That charater will never be the same to me anymore. This is cruel. And because of it, no I don’t welcome Budig with open arms, Sabine WAS sufficing as the recast!!!!!

  I have to completely agree with Sarah above & others in that I’ve been watching soaps for 20 years but became a daily viewer of AMC for the first time ever and that’s because of Sabine’s Greenlee and more specifically Greenlee & Aidan! The writers, producers & everyone else responsible for this show are fools. They had their next supercouple in the making, hitting on all the cylinders that make soaps so great: love, passion, angst, romance. Finding that chemistry b/t characters/actors that touches fans (and it did touch fans) is a soap’s blessing. Without Sabine, that is now lost. Callously firing Sabine and bringing back Rebecca because of a misconception of fan’s wishes & moreso of what this show truly needs is a major step backwards. This impulsive decision should hurt ratings further, if there’s any justice. Sabine was only on the show for 6 mos. & the Greenlee that I love & enjoy was only just coming into her own. AMC should’ve given her a chance, taken a better look at it’s writing instead & let this play out. Rebecca had her time as Greenlee. Sorry AMC, but I don’t think I’ll be tuning in after January 15. You’ve taken all the romance out of my daytime!

  Can’t they make up their minds? Sabine Singh is one of the best actresses they have ever had on AMC. Maybe this will be lucky for her and she’ll get a role on primetime or something. I find it hard to believe that Rebecca can duplicate the Greenlee/Aidan chemistry. I wish AMC had a little more backbone. They are not very supportive to their actors, it seems. (I am still getting over the loss of Dixie.)

  I’ve been watching All My Children for years, and I was very disappointed when Greenlee left in 2005. She was my favorite character. It was an insult for her character to be recast. They should have never given Sabine the role in the first place. She’s a decent actress, but she’s not as good as Rebecca. I also hate how they changed the character.

  Sabine has done such great work with what has been thrown at her - and it has been alot. And if Rebecca wanted to come back, why didn’t she come back when they offered it to her - before hiring another actress to play the role. She misses all of the accolades that came her way and has been most ungracious in her interviews to promote her return. First Cady McClain was treated so horredously and now Sabine. Two of the best actresses on the show. They would rather show case Rebecca’s over acting (it seems to be the current trend on the show). Sabine was subtle and elegant and my only hope is that this turns out to be the best thing that ever happened to her. She seems a class act in what I have read - if so, I hope that it pays off for her career. Another lifetime viewer leaves AMC. Time to give up on daytime.

  I also want to add that Rebecca Budig didn’t decline the offer to come back. She said she would come back temporarily. What I think ABC should have done was accept that offer. Maybe she would have stayed…or maybe she would have left and still come back in January. That would have been better for AMC instead of having another actress playing her and changing the character and THEN bringing her back. I do admit I did start to like the new Greenlee, but I always hoped Rebecca would come back. I am soooo excited about Budig coming back, and it will make the show so much better for me! I’m really unhappy with the new Babe and the new Derek…they need to stop recasting characters (and they SHOULD NOT have killed off Dixie), because it’s ruining the show.

  I agree that Sabine playing Greenlee now has done an EXCELLENT job, they should not let her go. I did miss Rebecca as Greenlee but now I am very used to Sabine and although I do not know why Rebecca left, if she comes back why not as a sister - let’s face it - this is the Soaps!

  I can’t believe the way that ABC and AMC have treated Sabine Singh. Personally, I never liked the character of Greenlee Smythe when played by Rebecca Budig. Sabine Singh made me a Greenlee fan. It’s Sabine’s chemistry with Aiden Turner that make the coupling work. When Rebecca Budig takes back the role, don’t expect me to watch. I’ll fast forward or just turn the channel through all of Budig’s scenes! Give me my Sabine Singh back. She’s one of the best talents AMC has garnered in years. You screwed up when you let go of James Scott…don’t make the same mistake with Sabine Singh!!

  I am actually quite torn. I like Rebecca, but I have grown to actually like Sabine’s take on the character.

  One person said, perhaps it was her idea. If you read Sabine’s biography, I have no idea why she would want to do a soap in the first place. She is very accomplished and from what I read it would appear she is very busy as well. She will land back on her feet no doubt about that.

  As Rebecca seemed to have a harder time of it, I suppose they decided to see if she would be interested now. But which came first? The approach to Rebecca or the letting go of Sabine?
  We will never know….though Cameron stayed at her house while doing DWTS.

  But as for the ads! Now I will agree 100% with everyone here, that is disgusting, cruel and downright wrong. The ‘original’ Greenlee maybe, but not the REAL Greenlee….And I suppose we will have to see it for the next 3 weeks. More than likely there will be a countdown, “Only 5 more days until the REAL Greenlee returns”.

  Rebecca was on CSI a couple of weeks ago to answer your question Mandy. She had about 4 minutes of screen time, if that.

  How ABC handled the return to RB was horrible I blame their promotion department for being tactless and classless…if there are such words. I think SS got a raw deal and a public slap in the face which no actor/thesipian deserves. Frons should do damage control. What is wrong with AMC isn’t the talent they have but the writers they don’t have. Most folk love a good story, a fine romance, not happening on ABC at all AiLee was getting them there, then they pull the rug out. I seriously doubt AiLee will continue, hence those viewers will probably leave off AMC, I totally get that.

  I agree with most of you - I will either stop watching AMC (after 20 years!) or fast forward through the “REAL” (???) Greenlee’s scenes. I think the chemistry between Aidan and Greenlee(Sabine) is amazing. I know Sabine will do well; she is talented, smart (NYU-Tisch, very good school) and polished. I wish her much luck, and I hope she knows how many fans she has.
  And those commercials… what a slap in the face, it’s disgusting. ABC must be desperate for ratings to air such crap.

  I’ve been watching the show for over 20 years and my favorite actress was Rebecca Budig, when she left, I even stopped watching for a while. When Greenlee was recast by Sabine, I hated it! She was NOT Greenlee and I really didn’t like the character … She has since grown on me but I can’t wait til Rebecca comes back I just love her! I’m sure the chemistry b/w her an Aidan will be great, there is so much chemistry with her and the other actors. I will say however, that as far as the way it came about, AMC should of done a better job. Hopefully, Sabine could be hired on one of my other soaps GH, OLTL..

  Rebecca is good at playing the part of a “B” but she stinks when it comes to romantic chemistry so fans of Ailee like me can say good-bye to them. AMC is throwing away the popular Ailee to bring the old actress back knowing that she can’t play romance to save her life. The one fluke pairing she was involved in had to do more with Josh Duhamel than her.

  I can only thank Brian Frons and the old actress for finally motivating me to break a bad habit, watching AMC. In preparation for the return of the old actress I started to watch Y&R and the other soaps on CBS and the difference between them and AMC is like NIGHT and DAY!

  If this wasn’t a ‘ruthless’ act, then why advertise it as the return of the ‘real’ Greenlee. Her story line over the past year was amazing, her character was designed to be hated, and she did an excellent job in making us hate her. Then in true soap style we gave her a chance to redeem herself, and now we love her. And NOW they fire her. AMC was set in my DVR for M-F recordings. It’s not anymore.

  I was sad to see Rebecca go in 2005, and was skeptical when I heard Sabine was taking the role. But, as with many viewers, she grew on me. I love the quirkiness she gives Greenlee–that biker chick eppy was so funny! Plus, she shows a mix of kindness & toughness; and Ailee works! She was treated so unfairly, down to being forced to work when she was dead sick ( read that on her site). And that promo is so insensitive! Sabine is no ‘fake’–this Greens is hers. She is Greenlee now. I like her & Rebecca. If RB had returned in April, I would’ve been happy. But I’m not happy now–because of how Sabine was treated, and how much I love her as Greens. It can’t be easy, taking a fan-fave role as well as playing opposite the creator’s BF (Alicia Minshew, Kendall). But she made it work, and she’s friends with AM now too. Of course, AM has better chemistry with RB, she’s her BF. But I also felt chemistry with her & SS.
  As a member of Sabine’s site, I have answers to 2 good points made: 1) Rebecca got her deal sometime in November, and Sabine was let go December 10. Plus, she had a 4 year deal. So, she didn’t ‘leave’, and her firing was 2nd. 2) In a September interview, Sabine expressed her intent to get a Master’s degree in social work, and sought a 3 or 4 year acting gig to support this. (She has already done such work in SriLanka & Africa) Her agent suggested the Greenlee role, and she got it! She loved working with Alicia, and Melissa (Annie).
  I will miss Sabine–and I do wish Rebecca well. I hope she doesn’t get the brunt of how TPTB handled this.

  Sabine put her education on hold when she got hired at AMC, she did not realize how much work it would be but she set aside her life and those goals in order to put her heart into the role of Greenlee

  Politcs, Politics…this is wrong and very disrespectful to Sabine Singh. TPTB need to have some class and revoke all of the ads glorifying RB as the “Real Greenlee”. When I first saw this ad, I thought that Sabine was going to be an imposter (like the Dixie/Di story)…not that she had been fired. The damage is done now, but have a heart for goodness sake! This is very tacky. I like RB, even from her days on GL, but Sabine did a wonderful job bringing multi layers/a soft side to this character. It is just unprofessional to discredit that. You can’t steal your old job back, just because you don’t find other work. Well not in the common folks world..but this is Hollywood we are talking about!
  I think it is high time for people to start getting a head on their shoulders instead of in their wallets.

  It took me awhile to adjust to Sabine’s recast. I liked Rebecca too but I she only returned to AMC because her projects didn’t pan out. Sabine had evolved and was doing an excellent job !
  Why let her go?! I like Sabine alot and her chemistry with Aidan will be more sparkling. I think Rebecca will eventually pair with Ryan again because their chemistry was so evident.
  Well, I wish Sabine the very best and hope to see her sometime soon in another soap. I read her bio online and she has alot of varied roles and studied at prestigous studios and shows. I applaud her acting and I’ll miss you, Sabine !

  This is so unfair!Hats off to Sabine Singh! I have never been a Greenlee fan until Sabine took over the role. She gave so much to this character and showed me a whole side of Greenlee I never saw before. And she worked so well with the other cast memebers. It was like she had alwaays been a part of the show. I am mad as hell ! I have nothing against Rebecca Budig, other than when you choose to leave AMC that was your choice. But I feel it is so unfair that just because you want to come back to AMC that a wonderful person like Sabine is being let go. That’s ok what goes around comes around and it will and we have not seen the last of Sabine. Shame on you Brian Frons!!! and I have watched AMC since day one and this SUCKS!

  since I found out about the Sabine/Rebbecca thing, I have really been torn, I liked both actresses but have been very disappointed in the writers. these actors are real people playing characters and the real people are being hurt, not the characters. I have finally reached a milestone…thought i’d never be saying this….but after 35 years (1972) of being an AMC fan, I am no longer one. I have not watched a show since 12/27/07 and am not going though withdrawal symptoms. I really think I am cured of AMC. My husband is in awe. I will always love the actors and will follow their antics but will not watch the junk the writers are creating and of course not being exposed to the sponsors products. FOLLOW THE $$

  I agree with Laura. It would be cool if Sabine gets hired on one of the other soaps…maybe One Life to Live since I watch that one. What they did to her was messed up, but for the most part I didn’t feel like she was Greenlee. I would have been happier if she acted more like the original Greenlee instead of changing the character…I’m also aware that she was told to put her own spin on the character and not watch Rebecca, but I would have preferred it the other way around. I also don’t know why so many people were into the Aidan and Greenlee couple…I didn’t think that pairing was all that great, though it did get interesting towards the end when he busted her out of the courtroom and saved her from prison. I also don’t think Sabine’s acting was all that great…it was actually pretty bad in the bomb shelter…but she did grow on me as well. However, I am really excited about Rebecca Budig coming back because she did an outstanding job and was fun to watch. She was one of my favorite characters and I loved the storyline before she left. I was really unhappy when the role of Greenlee was recast, and I can’t wait to see what the show will be like when she comes back!

  I am outraged at the callous insensitive treatment afforded Sabine Singh by Brian Frons and Rebecca Budig. I don’t think Budig is entirely blamesless in this situation. She left AMC of her own volition and when she was not the STAR she imagined herself to be she ingratiated herself back in with Frons to return to the role of Greenlee. Sabine Singh took on a difficult role and made it her own. Singh’s portrayal of Greenlee made the character more vulnerable and likeable. She had an intense storyline and handled it like the true professional that she is. How does Frons presume to know what fans want? To be dismissed without notice, severance pay, or even an acknowledgement of the outstanding job she did is totally ruthless. Both Frons and Budig should remember the Karma principle. As “business is business” perhaps Frons should be terminated without notice or termination benefits. While he’s getting his news, his things can be packed up so that he can leave the building quietly. In addition, the promo trailer stating The Real Greenlee returns shown on ABC while Sabine was still in the role was totally insensitive, not to mention classless and tacky. Instead of The Real Greenlee returns, the should have said The OLD Greenlee returns. Now the character can return to be the pathological self absorbed narcisist she was. That should present no difficulty for Budig. Considering her past actions, she will probably just be playing herself. Budig and Frons have brought backstabbing to an all time low. Perhaps the Babe recast should watch her back as well. Minshew and Matthison could also take a page from Cady McClain’s book, and also realize that NO ONE is indispensible, and should the mood strike Frons they could be jobless as well. I don’t think bringing Budig back will improve AMC’s ratings which lately have sunk to an all time low. The story lines have been ridiculous. Kendall and Aiden having sex after beliving that Zack and Greenlee are dead??? Matthison dancing with Lucci a la Dancing with the Stars???????????? Puh–leeze. What will they think of next? I for one am going to break my 38 year habit and stop watching AMC.

  Unfortunately, she and Susan Lucci did not get along, so the likelihood of her coming back would be highly unlikely. You never know, though. Now that would be a recast I’d totally support. I also agree that the way both Brooke and Dixie were so casually dismissed was horrible. Brooke did not even get any kind of farewell scene. She just appeared as a wedding guest and then was gone. After more than 25 years she certainly deserved a better send off.

  I watch AMC, OLTL & GH. I needed to stop watching one soap and I guess AMC made it easy. I too didn’t like the new Greenlee…but she brought me over to her side and now I will refer to her as the improved Greenlee who is gone. You’ve gone backwards and going backwards is never good. Look ahead never back. We will all miss Sabine and look forward to her future ventures…maybe GH or OLTL. She should stay with ABC….

  I love Sabine Singh. I watched some of the old episodes on Soap Net with the old Greenlee and I just dont think I really like her as the part. She didnt have any chemistry, she didnt seem like a good actor. I was bored with her. I dont think the old Greenlee coming back will look good with Aiden. I think they are perfect together and they look perfect together. It will be weird not having Sabine Singh.

  The more I read the more I wonder if Sabine just didn’t “fit” into the group of actors who play the charaters, not so much the role. RB is best friends with Alisha and Eden, great friends with Aiden Turner and Cameron and has remained close to Brian Frons.

  The person earlier stated RB left 8 years ago to have a baby. She took the role 9 years ago and left 2 years ago and NOT to have a baby. She’s not ready to have kids yet….

  The ads disappeared pretty quickly and the only thing that remained was a little statement in the corner of the screen. I suppose someone brought their callousness to their attention…..

  But Sabine’s gone and I am sure she will be fine. She has her own theatre company where she can do the hiring and firing….

  Bonnie, AMC is not a social club where Brian Frons should be trying to unite best friends. Alicia is free to visit Rebecca and Rebecca is free to visit Alicia, they don’t have to work together. They aren’t siamese twins. Why should viewers who have come to love Sabine as Greenlee have to deal with a favorite being fired just so best friends Rebecca and Alicia can work together? Rebecca and Alicia were best friends when the job was offered back to Rebecca before the show even held audtions for the role.

  There was no problem with Sabine and the other members of the cast to my knowledge, I never heard or read any such thing. Rebecca was gone for almost two years and it’s not like Rebecca was fired and Sabine was hired to take her place. Rebecca voluntarily chose to leave AMC so there was no reason for any of the cast to harbor any ill feelings towards her and if they did, this was petty on their part.

  I didn’t mean to imply that Sabine was not liked. I probably should have kept my thoughts to myself but I was wondering aloud if there was any merit to that angle as I sure did enjoy her portrayal of GS. Perhaps Sabine would have culivated those exact friendships had she been given the years to do so….

  I think the only thing that RB being friends with

  the cast has to do with it, is that it makes it very hard and awkward for people who also grew to have friendships with Sabine - Alicia Minshew being a prime example. There was a statement from her in one of the mags about how hard it was going from one day being devastated Sabine was leaving to the next feeling ecstatic that Rebecca was back. Sabine did form friendships in the short time she was there. And if anything I’m sure that’s been hard for everyone especially the way Sabine has been treated in the process of bringing Rebecca back. It’s got to be hard.

  But Rebecca got brought back because TPTB couldn’t wait for Sabine to develop a following (that she naturally would have over time). They need a quick fix and they thought RB would be that– hoping she would bring back her fans with her who left when she did. Instead of focusing on the writing and the real problems with the show, they’re just being kind of lazy. And unfortunately Sabine is a casualty of that.

  They’re also putting way too much on Rebecca’s shoulders IMO. Who knows how many of her fans actually stopped watching AMC, and how many are still even following her career after 2 years gone. It’s not at all fair how ABC has gone about this whole thing, not to either actress nor to any of the fans of either or both.

It’s not the first time that this has been mentioned. My point was simply that I don’t think this it is a good reason to have fired Sabine so that Rebecca could be working with her best friend Alicia again.

  Well, I just read the article on the myspace page from the intern. Seems that they had made their minds up quite a while ago and that was that.

  I think what I was attempting to say, poorly, admittedly, is that when a workplace, any workplace, hums along with employees you get along and who know one another quite well. But that doesn’t mean that new folks can’t add somehting wonderful to that mix.

  I really like RB and always have. She has a sparkle and I loved her time when she was on the View teaching people to knit. She’s a folksy young woman and I suppose we will see how well she fits back where she thinks she belongs. Her contract is only for 1 year though….so anything’s possible in the future!

  Im really upset/angry to see Sabine Singh leave AMC.   Just another person who didn’t watch AMC regularly during the RB Greenlee years. Too over the top! Couldn’t get into it. Since Sabine Singh took over the role I have enjoyed the show so much I record it every day and drive my husband crazy at night because I have to watch it! Sad to see her go. I was looking forward to seeing the outcome of the new bond she formed with Zach in the bomb shelter and how things would play out with Kendall & Aidan’s desparate night together during their search. That was going to be juicy! Now it will be different with someone else in there. There’s always that adjustment period of getting used to the switch that makes it tough to get into the storyline. So this great story just feels abandoned to me. It’s such a let down when you watch something for a long time on a show and you are waiting to see what happens and the show changes direction and there is no good resolution. I’ll keep an open mind and maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised. I just hope it doesn’t go back to the over the top bad girl Greenlee I remember from before. For me to keep watching there needs to be some believeability.

  Guys.. it’s Greenlee not Greenly. And Rebecca Budig is an amazing actress.. did you not watch her after Leo’s death? But you are right she probably signed a short term contract (like a year or two) so who’s to say she just won’t leave again. Sabine was doing a good job, and she probably would have commited more time to the role. But it’s too late now!

  First, I’d like to say that I agree with a great deal of what Cynthia Manchester said, especially the way Sabine Singh was treated with so much disrespect. I too have watched the show for 38 years and think this is a new low for AMC! I think Sabine Singh did a great job in the role of Greenlee and feel that those ads ABC is running about the “real” Greenlee coming back are beyond rude and in extremely poor taste! The poor girl hasn’t even left the show yet and they are already throwing a welcome home party for Rebecca Budig?? Come on…have a little heart, not to mention class. I admit that it took a few weeks for me to warm up to Sabine, but once she started to really put her own spin on the character, she really started to shine. She brought a vulnerability to the role that I don’t remember Rebecca bringing to it, and she has great chemistry with Aidan and Zach, another thing I don’t remember Rebecca having. Regarding Rebecca, I thought she was great in the role when she played it, although there were many times when I remember hating the character for her selfish and spoiled ways, even when her storyline called on her to be a nicer, kinder Greenlee for a week or two. The way she treated Kendall after everything Kendall honestly tried to do for her was pure selfish, bitchy Greenlee. I also remember before that reveal the great bond she shared with Kendall & Leo….I loved both of those relationships more than any other. Since Rebecca is best buds on and off screen with both Kendall and Ryan, I’m sure she won’t disappoint there. And she could go toe to toe with Susan Lucci when need be, I’ll give her that as well. Let’s face it, we already know that she rocked in the role when it was HER role, but I just didn’t see the urgency in dismissing Sabine in such a cold, swift manner, never once praising her, not giving her any severance pay, basically slapping her in the face, while throwing heaps of praise on Rebecca just because she wanted her old job back, which she had the chance to take back 8 months ago. She could have spared Sabine a lot of heartache and wouldn’t have alienated many viewers who are now probably former Rebecca fans and want Sabine in the role now and forever. At least we know Minschew, Mathison, Budig, & the ABC brass are happy….who care’s if some otherwise unknown, if it weren’t for them of course, actress is now out of a job without warning, and right before XMas! I hope another ABC soap snaps her up fast, and since the show must go on, that Rebecca comes back with that same spitfire attitude she always had — at least she had spunk, you gotta give her that! I’m happy for her, the “real” Greenlee, I guess; I just wish that the, should we call her “fake” Greenlee,” was treated with a lot more respect, hell even a little respect ABC, is that too much to ask?!? Now if they want to get rid of a “fake” character, why don’t they ditch that sad excuse for a Babe they have! She should have stayed at GH & got strangled by the Satin Slayer. She is someone who has to go…and FAST! Otherwise, let her hook up with Richie so he can go psycho on her! In the meantime, good luck, Sabine. You did an AWESOME job…hopefully we’ll see you soon!

  I wached AMC today, and the return of Rebecca Budig as Greenlee with mixed emotions. Rebecca is no doubt a fabulous actress and I have no doubt that in a few weeks I will be used her back in the role and loving her as I did before. However, today when Greenlee was talking about her night with Aidan and her and Zach in the bomb shelter, all I kept thinking was “that didn’t happen to you”. When I imagine Zach and Greenlee bonding, I see Sabine not Rebecca. Altough, when Sabine’s Greenlee was talking about Leo’s death I thought the same thing. I am sorry to see Sabine go and am horrified for the way she was treated in the end. “The real Greenlee” what a terrible thing to say. And I am appauled by the way some of the cast members treated her also. All I can say is that I really hope Rebecca Budig and Aiden Turner have chemistry because if they don’t AMC has made a terrible mistake. Ailee was fast becoming the next supercouple on the show, and I really hope that they have not ruined that bringing Rebecca back. Good luck to Rebecca.. I loved you once as Greenlee I’m sure in a matter of days I will love you again. Sabine, I’m sure will get another role on another soap in no time as you took on a beloved character and made her yoour own very quickly.

  I watched Rebecca as Greenlee before…I liked her, but always thought she could add more to the character. When Sabine was put in as the recast, I was kind of turned away by it. But over time, I fell so in love with her. She might not have been the original Greenlee, but I’m sorry…she nailed it way better than Rebecca ever did. And just when I was so wrapped up in her character, they just push her out the door. Why? Because they think the viewers would rather see the “original” Greenlee? No wonder day time soaps are hurting so bad…because they have no idea what they’re viewers want. I have respect for Budig, but the truth is that Sabine was just better at perfecting the character of Greenlee.

  I’ve been watching AMC since 1971, but this is the straw that broke the camel’s back. I think the way Sabine has been treated is awful. It would have been better if Rebecca coming back would have been announced as the ‘original’ Greenlee is returning, NOT the ‘real’ Greenlee. It sounds as if they thought Sabine was a ‘fake’ Greenlee. That’s like a slap in the face, a real sucker punch. I don’t know about anyone else, but I will NEVER watch AMC again - and this is after 36 years of being a loyal watcher.

  Kaycee I couldn’t agree more with you. I’ve watched AMC since 1980 and yesterday was my last day watching. I just watched yesterday because I was curious how Rebecca would fit in and in my opionion she didn’t as I expected. Thats Sabine’s role and Rebecca will never pull it off and make me feel like she is Greenlee again. Sabine has ruined that for her because of the outstanding performance she has given us all as Greenlee and it will never be the same without her again. Frons and his sidekicks have definitely messed this one up and if more people would boycott it as you and I have he’ll eventually know it. The way they have gone about it all has been so tacky and unproffessional with the “Real Greenlee is back campaigns and the celebrating her return before Sabine’s episodes were finished shows how much class they have and I don’t want to be a part of it by watching anymore. I’m done.

  Well this tops it all, I have seen everything now…..Was reading my local home town paper and in the world news section what do I see ..a crock of crap ….. Get this …Back by popular demand ABC has signed Rebecca Budig to play the role of Greenlee…ha-ha shouldn’t that be back popular demand of Frons ……it is bad enough that Sabine was treated this way, that they have to lie about it…..and since when is Budig world news????? Pleaseeeeeeee get real!

  This whole thing is getting ridiculous, tptb must despise Sabine. Never in a million years would I ever believe that Sabine would do or say anything to make people that angry. You can see by her eyes and smile that she is a down-to-earth lady without a mean-sprited bone in her body. Maybe it’s like my daughter said to me, “I wonder who Rebecca is sleeping with to get her role back that easily.” Yikes!!!!

  Okay come on…I don’t think attacking Rebecca Budigs moral character is the way to go here. It’s not her fault she was offered the role back. Yes they treated Sabine horribly. But attacking Rebecca for what the TPTB at ABC decided is just as bad. I’m sorry for Sabine, but neither actress is to blame for the decision.
