All My Children : The New Babe Sucks!
No offense to Amanda Baker but dang that is one of the worse recast on Soaps. I know it’s too early to judge and all but dang, from what I’ve seen so far, I’m not impressed. See, Babe is, for the lack of a better word, a slut. She slept with her brother-in-law the first day she showed up in Pine Valley. That’s why even though she’s changed over the years, well I don’t know if sleeping with Josh while once again married to JR is considered a change but somehow she has a heart. But still, Alexa Havins version of Babe has that presence on camera. Even if Babe doesn’t have a line, you know she’s in the room. She lights it up.
Today’s episode with her in it was so boring. Even the concern she’s trying to show over Wes/Richie didn’t seem genuine. Babe has a knack for feeling compassion on losers or outcasts. Not this new Babe. I just didn’t get that fire in her. It was blah. And I think Bobbie Eakes felt it too. I dunno. If this is what I’m getting from Amanda Baker this early on, I hope she improves or she might meet her demise from Wes’s hands faster than she can say, “trailer”. Hah!

I absolutely agree. Not only did the way AMC handle the recast insulting to the actresses, but it was truly an insult to the fans. Did they think we would not notice the change??? They even changed from the “old Babe” spinning with her hair flying to the “new Babe”’s imitating a similar act on the intro song in the same episode!!! At least they could of made an announcemet about the recast in roles. However, this “new Babe” is so “plain Jane” looking that it’s hard to imagine that “JR” could of ever been married to this woman. She seems like a very fake actress from what I’ve seen as well. Either force the old actress that played Babe to stay, or write off Babe’s role completely.

Stacie, what they should have done was let Babe follow Jamie and experience humbling experience. Czo this new Babe is just a totally different person. It’s not Babe. If she was gone for a month or so I might understand the “change”.

I absolutely agree. I keep waiting for the magic moment, when you say okay, this might work, but so far NOTHING. This new babe, is BORING!

I hated her on GH Nightshift. She is even worse on AMC!! The only thing that makes her better at being Babe, is the fact that she looks like a pig! haha. My mom got me to notice the fact that she shakes everytime she talks too!! She does not act anything like the other Babe, it’s like she was thrown into the show suddenly and has to ‘act’ like she knows what’s going on, and doesn’t do a very good job at it!!

I couldn’t agree more, I’ve really tried to adjust to the new Babe, and I don’t blame the new actress, it’s simply not the role for her…speaking of roles…we’re getting the original Greenlee back so why not our original BABE? Sounds like we need to email blast abc and make that happen!!!

I think the new Babe looks exactly like the mother on A Year Without A Santa Claus. Sorry, but every scene she’s in, all I can think of is that claymation character.

Geri, Alexa left when her husband left. They’re now both trying to make it in Hollywood. Justin Bruening is on his way there with the new Knight Rider TV movie.

first of all the new babe STINKS!!!! i didn’t like the way the orginal babe was on scene from her ride with richie and was hugging her mom and when she came back up it was a DIFFERENT PERSON!! ugh. i thought it was carey imagining about later on in the future with jenny. i thought that was jenny when she was older, i hate this new babe with a passion!! it is hard to imagine that that is babe.i try to imagine alexa havis and it dosen’t work. UGH i hate this new babe!!! ALEXA HAVIS COME BACK!!!!!!!!! PLEASE SAVE US !!!!

This is the only soap I know intermittently from beginning to now. The fact that it treats fans as if they do not matter makes me reconsider if I do, indeed need a soap in my life—-especially the one that I used to care about. I imagine they must have more fans than they need! Aside from their poor treatment of fans, I could not agree more that the new Babe is NOT Babe!

I keep waiting for the new babe to do something babe like and all I see is this tire want to be. Please writers look at the new babe and try to write something that sounds right coming out of her mouth. She just can’t delivery the lines the way Babe did. Help her

I agree with what everyone here has said so far!!! THE NEW BABE SUCKS!!!!! BIG TIME…SHE SUCKS!!!!! The old Babe had charisma and shine and Alexa Havis was just the actress to portray that charisma and shine on the television screen. As far as I am concerned, the character “Babe” is one that is deep, thoughtful,charismatic, extremely kind (helping hurt animals or saving people from themselves) either way she loves deeply. She is also a person who shines naturally and Alexa was just the person for the part!!!! She was my most favorite person on the show because she was such a natural and so cute too. Such a darling little smile that lit up the whole room!! In fact one of the reasons that I hate the new Babe as much as I do is because she does not give off that essence of sweetness like the old Babe used to. In fact she is actually quite the opposite!!! The new Babe gives off this almost angry attitude all the time. Which is not even who Babe’s character is all about!!! But since I knew that the daytime soaps change people from time to time, and sometimes they do end up working out, I figured I would give it some time to see if she could or would slip into her part. Kinda like when General Hospital went through all the different actresses for the part of “Carly”. I hated everyone of them because they just did not fill the bill. That is until they cast the actress they have playing Carly now. She is far better even than the old Carly. So remembering how it took sometime for the new Carly to be found, and for her to settle into her part and to become such a great Carly, I decided to do the same thing with the new Babe. So there I was right along with the other fans of AMC waiting to see if this “new” Babe would eventually become the part that she was playing, however, she NEVER did.:( It has been really disappointing to even watch the show because she recks it totally!!! In fact, I have a DVR which allows me to record my shows and watch them later, and ever since the new Babe has come on the show I have not even watched many of the AMC shows that were recorded
(from before Christmas all the way to the present) because I just do NOT enjoy the show anymore!!! Recently and only because I was running out of recording room I started going through some of the shows to get rid of them. Forwarding only to the parts that are of interest, just enough to keep up on the show and what is happening. But the parts with the new Babe I don’t even bother with because she isn’t enjoyable to watch. She is fake acting as well. Sorry, but hey the truth hurts, right???

Amanda Baker SUCKS!!! Alexa Carole Havins was incrediable as Babe. Why won’t she come back like Greenlee??? Amanda Baker can’t act to save her life and has the WORST accent ever! I can’t stomach the story line that she’s in! Bring back the REAL BABE CAREY!! Bring back Alexa Carole Havins!!
